Bengaluru: Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL), a 100% subsidiary of Tata Sons was honored by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) at the 2020 Greenbuild Leadership Awards in Bengaluru.
The Leadership Awards recognised outstanding individuals and organizations at the forefront of the green building movement. Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited has been a leader in utilising LEED to improve quality of life and has certified 19 projects representing more than 15.2 million square feet of space.
With the commitment to green buildings, the company has set a benchmark and pioneered its sustainability practices. The company, today, has set examples through its various projects by incorporating state of the art designing, utilizing modern technology and using environmental friendly materials for construction.
Being a responsible corporate citizen, Tata Realty has not only focused on the consumers, but also worked for the community welfare and environment protection. USGBC and Tata Realty have been partners since 2016 working to expand the adoption of LEED and WELL across the residential sector. The company has committed to certifying 20 million square meters of space under both certification systems.

India boasts more than 1,400 LEED-certified buildings and includes schools, hospitals, offices, residential buildings and more. The country’s green building activity has been steadily growing and India has consistently been among the top 10 countries and territories when it comes to LEED-certified buildings.
Karnataka, the state in which Greenbuild India will take place, ranked second in India for the most square meters of LEED-certified space, with more than 9.7 million gross square meters, in the list of Top 10 States for LEED in India in 2019. India has also been expanding its use of the rating system to cities and communities demonstrating the many ways LEED supports sustainable development. All recipients were recognized on stage during the third Greenbuild India conference, held in Bengaluru, India.
